Eastlake North High School Empty Bowls Project
Please Join us for our 4th Annual
|
Empty Bowls is a charity that has been around for more than 30 years. The purpose is to raise awareness to the issue of world hunger. Students and communities create ceramic bowls and open their doors to have a public dinner. People pay $10 for a ceramic bowl and a dinner of soup, bread and water. All of the proceeds are donated to the local food bank and guests keep their bowl as a thank you and as a reminder of food insecurity issues in the world.
This year Eastlake North HS is partnering with other area high schools to create over 200 bowls. Local area restaurants have joined in to donate soup to the event. They are Dino’s, Local Tavern, Flavors on the Vine, Trader Jacks, TJ’s on the Avenue, Papa Joes, The Cabin, Two Bucks, Winking Lizard, The Willoughby Brewing Company, and our very own Willoughby-Eastlake district chef. Bread will also be served at the event donated by Cleveland’s very own Orlando Bread Company. We hope to have a full house to benefit the food banks as much as we can. Our goal is to raise $2000. We hope have strong support from our community.
